Without your support, it would not be possible for us to win the Inaugural SME1 Asia Award Top 5 winner for Emerging Entrepreneur Category. ie. for companies that achieved more than S$1 million in turnover in their 1st year of operations.

I'm also thrilled becos my good friend Mr Yao Shih Lien, of Genius Mind Academy, was also one of the top 5 winners for the same category.

I will not rest on my laurels, and next year, we might try for the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award.

Tomorrow, 1 Nov 2011, there'll be a Special SME1 Asia Award Supplement in the Business Times.

Cheers!

Emerging SMEs Award

Dennis Ng, founder of financial education company, MasterYourFinance.com, had a humble beginning. He firmly believes that when you master your finance, you master your destiny, so he set out to become a millionaire and sought out mentors. He set up www.HousingLoanSG.com , a mortgage consultancy firm to help property owners/investors compare all the home loan packages available in Singapore and to help them choose a package most suitable to their needs. Through this business, he was able to meet and learn from multi-millionaires in Singapore.

He then realised many of the things taught in schools about investing and growing money were wrong. As he learned from the rich, he became richer as well. He grew his savings of S$250,000 in year 2002 to reach S$1 million five years later. His knowledge in “market cycle investing” helped him to avoid the stock market crash in 2008 and enabled him to buy stocks at low prices after the collapse of Lehman Brothers. By October 2010, he further grew his wealth to S$2 million.

He is a living proof that a person with an average income, by learning how to manage and invest one’s savings, can reach financial freedom by age 39. He shares freely his knowledge through the discussion forum of www.MasterYourFinance.com and through seminars that teach how to plan your finances and secrets to making money in stocks and property. He is planning to expand into other countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and China.

60 companies lauded at SME1 Asia Awards
By Ryan Huang | Posted: 28 October 2011 2320 hrs

SINGAPORE: A total of 60 companies were recognised and honoured for their business acumen and socially responsible business practices at the inaugural SME1 Asia Awards on Friday.

Among the top winners were MHC Medical Network, OKH Holdings and Paradise Group Holdings.

The awards recognise Small and Medium Enterprises that are socially responsible and successful in Singapore and Asia.

They focus on how their business practices have contributed to the development of people, society and the environment, to promote sustainable growth.

The SME1 Asia Awards aims to bridge an active community of socially-responsible business leaders to share business ideas and best practices for sustainable growth.

It is organised by APF Group, an entrepreneurship marketing services agency.

The awards will be launched in other Asian markets in 2012.

The following companies were named the top winners for their respective categories:

Distinguished: MHC Medical Network Pte Ltd
Prominent: OKH Holdings Pte Ltd
Notable: Paradise Group Holdings Pte Ltd
Emerging: Pin Si Kitchen Pte Ltd
Foreign: Encompass Digital Media (Asia) Pte Ltd and Santa Fe Relocation Services (S) Pte Ltd

Mr Brans Ong, CEO of APF Group said, "The SME1 Awards fulfil a gap within the business community - recognition of the emerging SME segments that place equal emphasis on profits and are also socially responsible and ethical in their business engagements."

"This group of entrepreneurs not only exemplifies the spirit of entrepreneurship, but are also the seeds and critical growth engines for Singapore and other Asian nations. It is on their back that society and governments will depend on for a sustainable and prosperous future," he added.

5 firms named SME1 winners

Award recognises social responsibility, sustainable growth

FIVE companies have emerged as the top winners for being the most socially responsible and successful small and medium-sized enterprises in the inaugural SME1 Asia Awards.

The award is given by the APF Group to companies that have implemented business practices that contributed to the development of people, society and an environment that promotes sustainable growth.

Brans Ong, CEO of the APF Group said: 'The SME1 Awards fulfil a gap within the business community - recognition of the emerging SME segments that place equal emphasis on profits, and are also socially responsible and ethical in their business engagements.'

Seah Kian Peng, Deputy Speaker and Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC, and high-level diplomats from neighbouring countries including Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Madagascar and Australia were the guests of honour.

The gala dinner was held at the Marina Bay Sands last Friday when winners were selected from five different categories.

The top winners under the five categories are MHC Medical Network as the most distinguished; OKH Holdings as the most prominent; Paradise Group Holdings as the most notable; Pin Si Kitchen as the best emerging company, Encompass Digital Media and Santa Fe Relocation Services as the best foreign company.

In addition to the top category winners, 20 other companies - or four from each award category - were also singled out for their stand-out embodiment of the spirit of the SME1 Awards.

'During the judging process, we also learned that although many of our nominees are relatively young, they have instituted processes in their business operations that will enable them to grow in a sustainable and responsible manner,' added Mr Ong.

In conjunction with the SME1 Asia Awards, the APF Group organised a pledge ceremony for 30 local businesses that did not qualify for the awards' financial requirements to encourage them to make a commitment for growth.

At the ceremony, APF Group also launched the first iPhone application that spotlighted the award-winning brands, featuring photos of the SME1 winners, their corporate profiles, the awards that they have won and the ability to enable users to call these companies directly from the application.
Cheers!

it's amazing, sometimes I share some of my success online with the pure intention of simply sharing my happiness.

But some people would react with jealousy or envy.....

According, to Napoleon Hill, Fear, Jealousy, Hatred, Revenge, Greed, Superstituion and Anger are 7 Negative emotions...

the next time you feel yourself having any of these 7 feelings, try immediately to replace the negative emotions with a positive emotion. eg. If Dennis can do it, so can I! Or I'm so happy for Dennis, his hardwork has finally paid off! And if I persevere and work hard like him, I will succeed too.

Here, Bob Procter shares what Napoleon Hill said:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmtLZdahmQY

Why not hear from the man himself, just like he identified 7 negative emotions, Napoleon Hill also identified 7 Positive Mental Attitude..

Let's learn from him.

I owe and attribute much of my success from applying what I learned from Napoleon Hill (and his sifu Andrew Carnegie)...

When asked what I like to share with fellow entrepreneurs on winning the SME1 Asia Award, I said:"always think about how you can serve your customers better, because when you do that, you will win the hearts of your customers, whether you win any award or not.
